Safety guidelines for TCM practitioners in handling COVID-19 crisis

After more than two weeks of hard work, the Chinese Medicine Task Force of Malaysia (COVID-19) successfully issued Safety Guideline for Malaysian traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners (COVID-19) on 7 April 2020.

The Safety Guideline aimed to introduce the Malaysian Ministry of Health's safety management guidelines for COVID-19, launch a health protection plan for Chinese medicine practitioners, enhance the awareness and measures against the pandemic, as well as to encourage the Chinese medicine industry to continue serving people online while maintaining zero contact.

The Safety Guideline for Malaysian traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners (COVID-19) is divided into three parts, namely general guide, medical guide and traditional Chinese medicine guide. The general guide is suitable for the public to understand some relevant contents such as hygiene habits, disinfection procedures, social distance, and many more; the medical guide introduces the guidelines for the management of COVID-19 cases; while the Chinese medicine guide provides safety operation guidance to traditional Chinese medicine clinics and stores.
