The Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) organised “The Poster and Five Minutes Presentation Competition” (5MP) on 20 April 2018 at Sungai Long Campus.
The assessment for Poster Competition took place on 12 April 2018 by several judges from FAM, namely Dr Mohammad Falahat Nejadmahani, Dr Teddy Lian Kok Fei, Dr Lee Siew Peng, Assoc Prof Dr Law Kian Aun, Dr M. Komathi, Dr T. Puvaneswary and Assoc Prof Dr A. Thillaisundaram.
The judges for the Presentation Competition were FAM lecturers Assoc Prof Lim Yet Mee, Dr Cham Tat Huei, Dr Aye Aye Khin, Dr Wong Hong Chau, Dr Lim Chee Seong, Dr Ng Kar Yee, Dr Lim Wan Leng, C. Mahendra Kumar, Foo Meow Yee and Lee Yoon Heng.
FAM Dean Dr Sia Bee Chuan said, “This competition is definitely eye-opening. It has improved tremendously since its inception in 2016. I am glad to witness the success of this event. This competition has served as a good practice for students to learn to present well to the audience. Upon graduating, one will be exposed to plenty of information from the industry. I hope the students will continue to improve and communicate effectively and efficiently.”
A total of 12 finalists were selected to present their final year projects, in a form of one picture slide, within five minutes. The champion of the Poster Competition walked away with a cash prize of RM150 and certificates while the first and second runner-ups took home RM100 and RM50 respectively, with certificates. The champion of 5MP Competition won a cash prize of RM300 and certificates while the first and second runner-ups won RM150 and RM100 respectively, with certificates. The overall champion was awarded pewter plaque and certificates. All the finalists were also awarded a certificate of participation.

2nd Runner-up: Ding Ying Tsyr and Lim Fei Ming with their title “Factors Affecting Malaysian Behavioural Intention to Adopt Mobile Wallet”
Five Minutes Presentation Competition

“Anything in relation to medical is a profitable business these days. Our research provides insights to companies about this topic. Before beginning any research, I believe it is important to understand and identify the relevance of the topic. It should not only benefit themselves but also the community,” said Teoh.
Siew said, “Time management and multitasking are the key qualities one should possess while doing final year project. Students also need to put in extra efforts when selecting the topics. The topic selected should be able to enhance the public’s knowledge.”
“The biannual Final Year Project Conference, which combines both Poster Competition and 5MP Competition, serves as a platform for some of our final year undergraduate students to showcase their research output to the students and academics. The topics presented were interesting and current to the latest developments in the digital commerce and socio-economic environment. I must say that the students’ efforts are really commendable and praiseworthy,” said FAM Deputy Dean of Academic Development and Undergraduate Programme Dr Hen Kai Wah.
The event was followed by a photography session and a refreshment session.
