As quoted in The Star Newspaper, Lo enthused, “As a journalist, I think it is my duty to voice out for the environment. To me, writing about the environment helps raise awareness among the people. It must be everyone’s responsibility to look after the surroundings, starting from home and the small things that we do every day.”

The winning stories and photos were chosen among 90 submissions from journalists and photographers from different media houses.

A total of 18 awards were given out under the Penang Green Journalism Award 2019 presentation ceremony. Themed ‘Say No to Single-Use Plastics’, the presentation ceremony was attended by more than 200 guests.
