UTAR ranked Third (Education Category) at Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers Awards Presentation 2020

The Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers Awards Presentation 2020 was held virtually on the gradmalaysia’s official YouTube channel on 17 December 2020 to celebrate the results and triumph of the leading graduate employers in Malaysia.

Yang Berbahagia Prof Dato’ Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Bin Ishak, Director General of Higher Education, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, graced the event along with Mr Isaac Hee, the Managing Director of GTI Media, in celebrating the victors at the virtual event.

UTAR was ranked third in the education category. The two other winners were also private universities.

This year, the Malaysia’s 100 ranking is formed by responses gathered from 26,654 respondents nationwide. With roots from the UK, the Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers survey is the largest and longest-running study on graduate recruitment trends in Malaysia, and aims to recognise the best and most proactive graduate recruiters in the country.

The Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers Awards Presentation 2020 kick-started with the announcement of the Sector Awards from 7 December (Monday) to 16 December (Wednesday) on the gradmalaysia and Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers social media platforms.

Based on the responses, when respondents were asked to rank the most important factors influencing their choice of employer, the respondents' top 3 factors were (in order): Working under a good leader, opportunities for personal development and growth, and training and up-skilling opportunities.

When asked to indicate information that was hardest to find about employers and their opportunities, respondents ranked opportunities for learning and personal growth, and employer leadership and management styles as the 3rd and 4th hardest factors to find in their job search process.
