Lee Kong Chian Faculty of
Engineering and Science (LKC FES) students won 1st prize for RoboCup@Home
Education League (Online) and 2nd prize for RoboCup@Home Simulation League
(DSPL) at the RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2021 Aichi Japan.
The team “KameRider” is a
collaborative team consisting of students from UTAR, MyEDU, Universiti
Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The
winners were awarded a certificate and trophy.

RoboCup@Home Education League is an
educational competition platform that cultivates beginner teams for
RoboCup@Home challenges while RoboCup@Home Simulation League (DSPL) is a
competition that examines how well robots can perform tasks helpfully and
live with humans in a home environment, such as a living room or kitchen,
assuming that robots are used in daily life.
Ir Dr Danny Ng Wee Kiat said, “This is
the first time our students have participated in the non-beginner league,
Robocup@Home Simulation League (DSPL). It is a good experience for the
students. They were able to compete
with other major league teams that participated in DSPL.”
The league was jointly organised by
RoboCup Asia-Pacific Confederation, RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2021 Aichi
Organising Committee and The Chunichi Shimbun Company; supported by the
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry New Energy and Industrial Technology
Development Organisation.
