FICT Deputy Dean awarded Alibaba Cloud MVP
Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) Deputy Dean for Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Ts Dr Cheng Wai Khuen was recently awarded as Alibaba Cloud’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) by Alibaba Cloud. The award is awarded to thought leaders who are devoted to helping others fully understand and use Alibaba Cloud technologies. He received a plaque and a certificate.
He enthused, “It was a great feeling to receive the Alibaba Cloud MVP Award. Thanks to Alibaba Cloud for the recognition, but I must admit it was a team effort. I certainly could not have met the milestone without my fellow colleagues and students. I was helping more than 200 students pass different Alibaba Cloud professional certifications for the past two years. Indeed, this becomes a routine task for my course – UCCD3113 Distributed Computer Systems, in FICT.”
He added, “Alibaba Cloud is one of UTAR’s MoU partners. UTAR is also a partner of the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP). The faculty, FICT, has entrusted me to conduct additional training on top of the conventional teaching materials. Students are also willing to spend extra hours to gain this practical knowledge.”
Alibaba Cloud professional certifications give industry-endorsed advantages by providing a broad range of exams based on product categories, user growth stages, and job requirements. For individuals, the earned certifications prove that they are professional in the corresponding technical field; able to solve practical problems based on Alibaba Cloud products; and receive more employment opportunities in the Alibaba Cloud ecosystem. Meanwhile, for organisations, Alibaba Cloud professional certifications help organisations to cultivate and tap professional talents, improve the organisation’s cloud technology capabilities, and obtain more business opportunities from Alibaba Cloud ecological projects.
