health awareness among young adults and promote mental health expression
through artwork. The artwork was judged based on the criteria of expression
of the themes, creativity and originality as well as the overall impression
of the art.
Soo said, “In the current world,
we tend to look at idealised images of others and try to find those same
idealised characteristics in ourselves, and when we fail, we feel bad about
ourselves. I wanted to express my thoughts about body image in this
competition. Women should know that there is no golden rule of body
perfection and no single standard of beauty. Stop comparing yourself to
others as we are all unique in our own ways. We need to embrace our
imperfections and love ourselves.”
