Prof Ewe reminding the recipients to continue excel in their studies

Prof Ewe congratulated the award recipients and advised, “Congratulations to Mak Zhen Han, Hoh Jia Ling and Nhirmaya Radha R Saravanan. Students do remember the generosity of API-MDC Group of Companies. In the future, when you get the chance, do remember to return this generosity to others who may need such financial assistance, and use your expertise to contribute to your community as well as society. With this, I also hope you will be encouraged to continue to excel in your studies as well as at your workplace after graduation. This is the second time MDC scholarships are presented to UTAR students.  On behalf of the University, thank you once again for your generosity in providing our students with this scholarship. Your contribution will greatly help to ease the financial burden of our students.”

Leow highlighting the importance of good character apart from good academic performance

Meanwhile, Leow commented, “As we grow strength to strength, human capital is one thing we really need and we are appreciative towards the universities for producing such good performing individuals. When we present these scholarships, we do not merely base it on their academic performance, but we also look at their characters. The recipients today were interviewed personally by myself and my directors. From the interviews, we believe the recipients today are indeed well-deserving candidates and we hope for them to join us after their graduation.”

He also advised, “Anyone is able to contribute, but it is the people and their characters that make a difference. So to all the students, be flexible to give yourselves more opportunities. Be adaptive to the needs of the market, and to meet those needs, we have signed MoUs with universities to offer scholarships and internships, as well as to collaborate on R&D and recruit suitable candidates.”

Following after was the signing of agreements and a group photo to commemorate the meaningful ceremony.
