FAM student selected as a recipient of KPMG Young Star Sponsorship Programme

Choo Yung Kang, a student from the Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) was recently selected to be the recipient of the KPMG Young Star Sponsorship Programme by the KPMG Education Trust Fund. Choo was invited to the KPMG Education Trust Fund Grand Awards Ceremony to receive the scholarship. The ceremony took place on 25 May 2022 at the KPMG Tower.

According to Choo, he received a one-off scholarship which amounted to a total of RM4,000. When asked about how he was chosen to be a recipient of the scholarship, he said, “I was told by my LinkedIn Connector that we can nominate or be nominated as a scholar to receive the sponsorship. There were several scholarships, and I was fortunate to be picked as a recipient of the KPMG Young Star Programme. I believe I can greatly benefit from the one-off scholarship of RM4,000. I would also be able to participate in the KPMG Boot Camp and any internal events held by KPMG.” Choo also stated, “I am extremely grateful to KPMG for giving me the opportunity to receive this scholarship since less than 30% of applicants were chosen for this scholarship. With it, I can continue to achieve my professional and educational goals, such as ACCA.”
