Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Graphic Design and Multimedia student Law Khor Nee from UTAR Faculty of Creative Industries won 7th place at the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) Championship Malaysia 2022. Beating more than 1,000 entries, Law was placed among the top 30 in the first round. In the final round, Law designed a poster for her client, H.O.P.E, a non-governmental organisation sheltering over 2,000 homeless cats and dogs, and managed to secure the 7th place in the national competition. The national competition was part of Law’s assignment for the subject Computer Graphic for the January 2022 trimester. The subject introduces students to Adobe software which is important in Graphic Design.

It was an encouraging and motivating win for Law. She expressed her appreciation to all who had helped her and supported her along the way. “I will continue to work hard and look forward to having greater achievement in the future,” she said.

“As an educator, I believe it is very important to expose and get students to join competitions as they provide students with the opportunity to experiment with real-world projects which could help them balance their learning and community need, and see where their skills and work stand among others. Students will feel more motivated and have the adrenaline rush to do better too,” said Law’s Graphic Design lecturer, Jeevamalar Kumarasamy.
