Head of Master of Civil Engineering Programme Ir Dr Kwong Kok Zee from Lee Kong Chian
Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) was awarded two awards at the
Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Annual Dinner, held on 15 July 2023
at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
Dr Kwong received the IEM Top Membership Award (Graduate Membership for Individual)
and the second runner-up 2022 Presidential Award of Excellence as the
Chairman of the Civil and Structural Engineering Technical Division (CSETD).
He walked away with a plaque and two certificates.
Dr Kwong was awarded the IEM Top Membership Award for having the greatest number of IEM
students recruited in the faculty; and for his help and assistance in
registering the students with IEM. The second runner-up 2022 Presidential
Award was awarded to Dr Kwong for his contribution to the IEM Civil and
Structure Technical Division as the chairperson, as well as for organising
events for the IEM members, especially the engineers in the Civil and
Structural fields.
Dr Kwong said, “I am so grateful to all my colleagues at UTAR, especially the ones in LKC
FES. Thank you for your continuous support.”
The IEM Annual Dinner was an event organised to present awards to winners of projects as
well as to announce new committees for the year 2023 or 2024. UTAR
congratulates Dr Kwong on his achievements and wishes him great success in
years to come.
