UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) student Tay Bee Sim was declared the winner of ViTrox Prestigious Award 2023 on 25 July 2023 for her active participation in international competitions. Supervised by LKC FES academics Ir Ts Dr Tham Mau Luen and Dr Khor Kok Chin, Tay walked away with a cash prize worth RM15,000.

Tay said, “I submitted my application for this esteemed award because I wanted to join ViTrox as an R&D engineer. The opportunity to contribute my skills and expertise to ViTrox’s cutting-edge projects deeply aligns with my professional aspirations. Additionally, I am honoured to have received strong recommendations from Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chang Yoong Choon, Dr Khor and Dr Tham, who enthusiastically endorsed my application for this prestigious award. Their support further bolstered my confidence in the potential match between my qualifications and ViTrox’s esteemed team.”

Expressing her gratitude, she said, “Winning this award fills me with gratitude and excitement because it opened up an opportunity for me to work at ViTrox. My advice to juniors is to actively participate in Engineering competitions to enhance their industrial knowledge, and if they are interested in joining ViTrox, don’t hesitate to apply for it.”
