UTAR Table Tennis team wins first runner-up at Kejohanan Sukan Masiswa Zon Tengah 2023

Kejohanan Sukan Masiswa Zon Tengah 2023 was held from 20 to 22 October 2023 at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Bangi Campus. The tournament was exclusively designed for private universities and higher education institutions situated in the KL and Selangor regions that meet the eligibility criteria for participation. Four UTAR teams participated in this year’s competition under four sports categories, namely Futsal Male, Table Tennis, Chess, and Volleyball Male.

The UTAR Table Tennis team, which participated in Single Male, Single Female and Mixed Double formats, achieved a commendable feat in the Team Game. The team, comprising six players, emerged as 1st runner-up team among 14 teams from other private higher education institutions.

Regrettably, the UTAR Futsal, Chess, and Volleyball (Male) teams faced tough competition from other university players, resulting in their inability to secure any medals. Overall, it was an honourable and enriching experience for the UTAR Sungai Long team to participate in a high-level university tournament.
