LKC FES student wins consolation prize at 6th Tan Sri Ir Yusoff Ibrahim FYP Competition 2022

UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science student (LKC FES) Tai Jia Wei recently won a consolation prize at the 6th Tan Sri Ir Yusoff Ibrahim – FYP Competition 2022, which was jointly organised by The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). She managed to secure the prize with her final year project titled “Removal of nickel (ii) ions by floating aquatic plants”.

The competition, which was open to all universities and higher learning institutions, consisted of two rounds. The first round required the participants to submit their Final Year Project (FYP) report, with each report needing a total of six chapters; Introduction, Literature Review, Research Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. The chosen finalists moved on to the second round on 22 November 2022, where they were required to give an oral presentation to a panel of judges.

The University congratulates and is proud of Tai for her amazing accomplishment.
