Bronze medals at Kejohanan MASISWA Zone Tengah 2022

UTAR students secured two bronze medals at Kejohanan MASISWA Zone Tengah 2022, which was held from 9 December 2022 to 11 December 2022 at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Setapak.

The athletes took part in the badminton, chess, futsal, volleyball and table tennis sports categories. Foundation in Science students D. Yugenn, Yong Li Ming and Chew Zhi Qi, and Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) student Cheah Ming Feng managed to secure a bronze medal for the male team under the chess category.

UTAR female volleyball team also managed to clinch a bronze medal after attaining third place in the women’s volleyball category. The female volleyball team consisted of Bachelor of Science (Honours) Quantity Surveying students Aw Yong Pei Wei and Chek Vivien; Bachelor of Science (Honours) Applied Mathematics with Computing student Hannah Tan E-Ling; Bachelor of Media and Creative Studies (Honours) student Joey Yeoh Huey Wern; Bachelor of Communication (Honours) Broadcasting student Khoo Wan Xi; Bachelor of Science (Honours) Actuarial Science student Kristie Tan Mei Hooi; Bachelor of International Business (Honours) student Lew Pei Yi; Foundation in Arts students Ong Chu Ven and Siau Ruo Ling; Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) student Tan Jia Yeng; Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mechatronics Engineering student Wenee Lee Wan Ning and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Graphic Design and Multimedia student Yee Chai Ting.

With two bronze medals from two sports categories, UTAR was ranked in the 13th place among 29 other private universities and higher educational institutions located around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor region.
