It was a victorious celebration for Bachelor of Finance (Honours) student Chew Pei Chin and her teammates, from the University of Nottingham Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and INTI International University, when they were declared the second runner up at the Dell Business Challenge 2023, organised by Dell from 13 to 14 April 2022 via Zoom. Each of them won a Dell EcoLoop Urban Backpack and Dell Wireless Mouse worth RM210.

Another three students who participated from UTAR were Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) students Cheah Shing Yong, Low Ke Mei and Seow Kit Chong.

The objective of the business challenge was to provide students an opportunity to meet with Dell executives to learn about the working environment in a multinational company and understand the job opportunities offered to fresh graduates whose major is either in Accounting and/or Finance.

In the challenge, the students were given an opportunity to showcase their skills by working on a case study in a group and presenting the findings to the executives. In addition to winning prizes, the top team had the chance to secure a job interview with Dell’s Finance team and join the prestigious Finance/Accounting Development Programme that has been specifically designed to kick-start their Finance/Accounting career. Moreover, Dell’s Human Resource team also provided valuable guidance on job interview preparation through a role-playing simulation.
