The award certificate won by Dr Lim
Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) academic Ir Dr
Lim Siong Kang won the Best Paper Award in the 2nd World Engineering,
Science and Technology Conference (WESTEC) 2023, held in Batu Feringgi,
Penang, from 14 to 15 October 2023.
This conference was organised by Global Academic Excellence (GAE), and
conducted concurrently with the 7th International Conference on Education,
Business, Islamic, and Technology 2023 (7th ICEBIT). The conference had 18
on-site presenters sharing their research findings, and additional 27
presenters shared their research outcomes online.
Dr Lim was awarded the Best Paper Award for his paper titled “Enhancing
Strength and Impact Resistance of Latex Rubberized Concrete through Steel
Fiber Incorporation”. This paper is co-authored by LKC FES Department
of Civil Engineering student Eng Le Yi, and LKC FES academics Assoc Prof Ir
Dr Lim Jee Hock, Assoc Prof Ir Ts Dr Yew Ming Kun, Dr Lee Yee Ling and Dr
Lim Ming Han. Dr Lim walked away with an award certificate.
WESTEC and ICEBIT provided a platform for academicians, researchers,
professionals, intellectuals, and scholars from various fields and
disciplines to debate and discuss current global issues, find solutions to
problems, exchange and share knowledge and information, establish business
or research relationships, and identify global partners for future
collaborations. Additionally, papers presented at these conferences are
published in SCOPUS-indexed or refereed journals.
