Three UTAR students and an academic from the Faculty
of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) achieved notable success
at Alibaba Cloud’s MY Digital Talent in U Competition 2022. This competition
represents the culmination of achievements attained by academics and
students in 2022, through the passing of their professional certification
exams, held throughout the year.
Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) student Yong
Hong Long secured first place and received a prize of RM4,000 and a
certificate. Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) student Tan Jing
Jie claimed second place and took home RM2,000 and a certificate. The third
place was clinched by Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) student Khor
Jia Hui, who walked away with RM1,000 and a certificate. The three students
excelled in the individual category of the competition.
Furthermore, Ts Dr Cheng Wai Khuen, an academic at
UTAR, was honoured with the Best Academic Staff Award. He walked away with
RM2,000 and a certificate.
In addition to these individual achievements, the
UTAR team won first place in group prizes and received 12 months of Alibaba
Cloud resources worth up to RM180,000.
The main goals of the MY Digital Talent in U
Competition were to inspire talented students in Malaysia to have innovative
digital experiences and explore the future of digital intelligence, nurture
future digital talents for the country, enhance Cloud Computing industry
knowledge, and increase industry-sought-after Cloud certifications among
students to meet the increasingly challenging and ever-changing industrial
requirements in the IT industry.
