receive this award; the first and second batches were awarded in 2021 and
2022 respectively.
The PB
Top Achiever Award is given once a year and these exceptional students are
selected by academic assessment based on their CGPA results and soft skills
points. The shortlisted candidates were also interviewed by the interview
committee.
Prof Dato’ Ewe delivering his
speech
Prof
Dato’ Ewe, in his speech, said, “Allow me to express my heartiest
appreciation to Ms Koay, her team and Public Bank for coming forward to
provide this award. UTAR is indeed humbled to receive your kindness and is
very thankful for your continuous support. I believe this award, which also
comes along with a financial incentive, will not only benefit the students
but their families as well in reducing their financial constraints.”
He added,
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt
congratulations to each and every one of our top achievers, who were
selected this year. Your relentless pursuit of excellence in education and
soft skills has not only set you apart but has also inspired other students
around you. I hope that by receiving this Public Bank award, you will be
motivated to excel further, be better and eventually make a positive
contribution to society.”
Ms Koay during her
speech
Ms Koay said, “Congratulations to
the top winners of the PB Top Achiever Award. As one of the judges, I am
very impressed by the quality of your presentation. Indeed, you have made
the judging process a difficult one as the margin among the candidates was
very fine. The quality exhibited by all the candidates is the reflection of
the quality of education UTAR offers. Public Bank and UTAR share a common
trait as both of the organisation inspire for excellence and this pursuit of
excellence forges the collaboration between Public Bank and UTAR.
Congratulations UTAR, you had done the nation proud!”
