UTAR was honoured with the MBOT Partnership Excellence Award 2024 by the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) at the MBOT ENTICE 2024 event, held on 30 July 2024 at Le Méridien Putrajaya.

The award recognises institutions that have demonstrated exceptional collaboration and contributions towards advancing technology and engineering. It highlights UTAR’s dedication to forming partnerships that promote innovation and excellence in these fields.

The MBOT ENTICE 2024 event brought together leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the industry to celebrate achievements and discuss future directions. UTAR’s recognition emphasises the university’s role in creating strong alliances that help develop the technological landscape.

MBOT ENTICE 2024 also provided a platform for MBOT members to engage in discussions on the latest developments within MBOT and activities aimed at improving the professionalism of local technologists and technicians. ENTICE served as a networking event for MBOT members, technology experts, agencies, industries, and higher education institutions. The programme featured a town hall session, keynote speech, forum, award presentation, the launch of MBOT SERVE 2024 – 2029, and an exhibition.

Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT)

The MBOT was created as a professional organisation under the Technologists & Technicians Act 2015 (Act 768) to register and acknowledge Professional Technologists and Certified Technicians as professionals. This initiative was prompted by the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP), which highlighted the necessity of establishing a professional body to register and recognise graduates in skills and technology.
