Discussing their winning project, “Top 5 ETFs in Malaysia”, the third-place winners said, “Our project was developed based on thorough analysis and key indicators, including the 5-year average return, year-to-date price performance, and expense ratio. We joined the competition to enhance our knowledge of ETF investments. Additionally, we aimed to expand our network by attending the kick-off meeting. We are honoured to participate in this challenge under the Bursa Young Investor Club Kampar. The outcome was not just about winning a prize but also gaining invaluable experience throughout the journey. We were able to deepen our understanding of Malaysian ETFs and learn about the drivers and benefits of investing in them.”

In addition, the fourth-place winners added, “This competition enabled us to promote our club activities and provide exposure for other students to learn more about the UTAR Bursa Young Investor Club (BYIC). Initially, we were quite nervous, but we thoroughly enjoyed the meeting sessions with other university BYICs. Moreover, we gained valuable knowledge about ETFs and how to diversify risks in the field of investment.”

The Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) Challenge, organised by Bursa Malaysia, aimed to promote interest in ETFs and inculcate a culture of independent investment discovery among young Malaysians. The competition also showcased students’ creativity through the production of short, engaging videos about Bursa-listed ETFs, fostering ETF investment among Malaysian youth in a fun, interactive, and innovative way.

Congratulations once again on your outstanding achievements!
