Students shine in international storytelling competition

Three students from UTAR Kampar Campus participated in an international storytelling competition co-organised by UTAR, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) from Thailand, and National Pingtung University (NPTU) from Taiwan on 28 October 2024. The virtual event showcased talented storytellers from the three universities, with each institution represented by three participants.

The UTAR team featured Bachelor of Communication (Honours) Public Relations students Eng Kim Fang and Ho Shan Yee, and Bachelor of Electronics Engineering with Honours student Ng Wei Bin, who all captivated the audience with their storytelling skills. Eng Kim Fang stood out by winning the position of second runner-up. The champion and first runner-up titles were awarded to RMUTT students, highlighting the competitive spirit and calibre of participants from each university.

UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong supported the event by delivering opening remarks, emphasising the significance of international collaboration and cultural exchange. The competition offered invaluable exposure for all participants, providing a platform to enhance their storytelling abilities and engage with peers from different cultural backgrounds.
