Ms Teh Hui Xin, a Medical Science
PhD candidate and Postgraduate Laboratories Science Officer at the M.
Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MK FMHS), was recently
awarded the prestigious Professional Certificate in Biorisk Management by
the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA), Canada. This
certification reflects her dedication to upholding the highest standards of
laboratory safety and responsible practices. Achieving this certification
also signifies that her expertise has garnered international recognition,
further underscoring her commitment to promoting biosafety.

In addition to her IFBA
certification, Ms Teh has been selected by the Health Security Partners,
Washington DC, to participate in “The Health Security Futures Fellowship”.
This fellowship connects early-career scientists from around the world,
positioning them as future leaders in global health security. Her selection
highlights her potential to make significant contributions to the field and
her dedication to ensuring global health safety.
As a Science Officer in the
Postgraduate Laboratories at MK FMHS, Ms Teh’s achievements will play a key
role in elevating the biosafety and biosecurity standards at UTAR. Her
advanced knowledge and practical skills in biorisk management will
contribute to creating safer research environments and ensuring the
university maintains compliance with international safety regulations and
best practices.
