Showcasing their flair for creativity and innovation, After 9:V, a talented team from UTAR Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI), captured the hearts of audiences to win the coveted Audience Choice Award at the Terang Projection Mapping Showcase 2025. Held from 2 to 10 August 2025 at the historic Town Hall in George Town, Penang, the event saw the team walk away with RM1,000 in prize money and a trophy, marking a proud moment for the University’s growing reputation in emerging media arts.
The winning artwork, titled Bersatu Kita Mekar, was created by four Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Graphic Design and Multimedia students Lee Han Ying, Cheng Hui Xin, Addy Chan Yong Jet, and Kong Shu Ting. Supervised by FCI lecturer Mr Lee Kin Keong, the team developed the project while balancing full-time internships. They were among the 40 finalists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries.
This achievement marks an important milestone in the students’ academic and creative journey. The University extends its gratitude to all who supported and voted for the team.
Organised by Filamen, a leading Malaysian new media art collective, the Terang Projection Mapping Showcase is a prominent event in the country’s creative scene. The award reflects the talent nurtured at UTAR and provides a platform for young artists to showcase their skills nationally.
