Assoc Prof Ts Dr Chew Kuew Wai from the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) gained international recognition after receiving two awards at the 4th Asian Conference on Frontiers of Power and Energy (ACFPE 2025) in Chengdu, China.
Dr Chew was honoured with the Best Presenter Award and the Excellent Reviewer Award, the latter accompanied by a cash prize, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the hybrid-format conference which took place from 24 to 26 October 2025.

His award-winning presentation, titled Evaluation of Coupling Coils Parameters on Electric Vehicle (EV) Wireless Charging System, showcased pivotal research that addresses key challenges in the efficiency and design of wireless power transfer for electric vehicles. The work, co-authored with PhD student Kenny Chu Sau Kang and LKC FES academics Assoc Prof Dr Stella Morris, Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chua Kein Huat, Ts Dr Hoon Yap, and Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Boon Han, represents a significant step forward in sustainable transportation technology.
