CFS Kampar students recognised as artistic scientists

Science, when paired with art, makes understanding more rewarding. This was evident at the prize-giving ceremony of the Art × Science: A Biological Illustration Challenge, held on 12 September 2025 at UTAR Kampar Campus. 

The ceremony commenced with an opening speech by the Organising Chairperson, Ms Chan Jer Jing, who commended the efforts, enthusiasm, and active participation of the students in the challenge. She enthused, “This challenge was interesting because it provided a platform for participants to merge their scientific knowledge with creativity, allowing them to present the complexities of biology in a colourful, imaginative, and truly memorable way. It also served as a reminder to other students that when logical and creative thinking are combined, learning becomes more fun and effective. This demonstrates that creativity is a powerful tool for mastering complex information, a skill that will surely be helpful for them in any subject.”

She added, “Apart from enabling the students to express their creativity, the challenge also equipped them with critical skills. It enabled them to acquire a deeper understanding of the functions of different cell parts and organs. Through drawing and colouring, the students applied higher-order processing skills, which also extended to creative problem-solving.”
