LKC FES academic earns ISO 50001:2018 Internal Auditor credential in energy management

Centre for Railway Infrastructure and Engineering Chairperson and Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) academic Ir Prof Dr Chua Kein Huat has officially become a certified ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management Systems (EnMS) Internal Auditor recently. This achievement follows his successful completion of rigorous training and assessment, further solidifying his status as a leading authority in energy management both in Malaysia and internationally.

Prof Chua brings over 16 years of dedicated experience to this new role. He already holds the nation’s highest professional credentials in the energy sector, serving as a Registered Energy Auditor (REA) and a Registered Energy Manager with Practicing Certificate (REM Type 2) under Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia (the Energy Commission).

Throughout his career, he has successfully bridged the gap between academic research and industry application, offering consultancy for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors.

The ISO 50001:2018 standard provides an international framework for organisations to improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and achieve cost savings.
