Penang Trainee Teachers' Rewarding Visit to UTAR

A delegation of 51 trainee teachers and three lecturers from Institut Perguruan Persekutuan Pulau Pinang visited the University's Perak Campus on 9 April 2009.

Associate Professor Dr. Teh Chee Seng, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FAS), was at hand to welcome the visitors. Dr. Teh then introduced the University and its comprehensive range of programmes to them. The visitors were shown the UTAR corporate video, from which they learnt how the University had grown in its young history. The delegates expressed their admiration of UTAR's remarkable growth and development since its inception in 2002.

UTAR is the only private university offering Chinese Studies in Malaysia. Since the delegates major in Chinese Language in their studies, a UTAR senior lecturer, Mr Lim Chee Men, also briefed them on the degree and postgraduate programmes offered under UTAR Chinese Studies Department. The visit provided the platform for lecturers and students from both institutions to exchange their academic experience. To conclude their visit, the delegates went on a guided tour of the picturesque Perak Campus.
