Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) 9th Convocation Ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR : Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) held its 9th Convocation Ceremony on the 7th , 8th and 9th of August 2009 at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

At the Convocation, 2,895 graduands from four Master's and 32 Bachelor's Honours degree programmes received their scrolls. The Convocation also marked the graduation of UTAR's pioneer batch of students for one Master's and four Bachelor's Honours degrees. They were: the Master of Commerce (Applied Accounting), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electronic and Communications Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, and Bachelor of Science (Honours) Physics.

There were seven Master's degree graduands. They were: Chin Shirlene, Eng Luh Yee Goy Ling Ling, Lee Sek Yui, Leong Xin Yu, Tan Bee Ying, and Tan Chooi See.

For the Bachelor's Honours Degree programmes, there were 216 graduands who graduated with First Class Honours. With the Convocation, UTAR now has a total of 16,480 graduates.

UTAR began with 411 students, eight Honours degree programmes, three faculties and one campus location in June 2002. Today, UTAR has over 18,000 students pursuing 75 programmes in seven faculties spread over four campuses.
