1Ringgit 1Malaysia Campaign in UTAR

In support of the National Athletes Charity Foundation (Yakeb) 1Ringgit 1Malaysia campaign to raise funds for former national athletes, UTAR staff and students went around the University Campuses in Klang Valley and Kampar with donation boxes to rally support for the campaign. Around RM1,400 was collected from the University's staff and students for the fund.

UTAR handed the total collection in the form of a cheque to Yakeb's office in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur on 17 August 2009.

On the campaign, UTAR Vice-President (Student Development and Alumni Relations), Associate Professor Dr. Yeoh Suan Pow said, "We feel that it is good for the students to be involved in the campaign to cultivate compassion and concern for others. At UTAR, we instil in students a sense of commitment to society and humanity".
