SAFEA and Xiamen University visit UTAR

Delegates from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), China and Xiamen University visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 2 December 2013.

They were welcomed by UTAR President Ir Prof Academician Dato' Dr Chuah Hean Teik, Vice President (Internationalisation and Academic Development) Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Institute of Management and Leadership Development (IMLD) Director Prof Cheng Ming Yu and UTAR staff.

The delegates from SAFEA were Deputy Administrator Zhang Yali, Department of Cultural and Educational Experts Deputy Inspector Mu Jielin, Department of Cultural and Educational Experts Coordinator Prof Lu Yiguang and Service Centre of SAFEA Deputy Division Chief Qu Baoquan. Also present were Xiamen University Vice President Prof Wu Daguang and Tan Kah Kee College President Prof Wang Ruifang.

The objective of the visit was to discuss and explore the possibility of mutual co-operation in areas such as management and leadership training for their staff. The programme for the visit included a video presentation on the history and milestones of UTAR, Prof Cheng's presentation on IMLD's role and the exchange of souvenirs.

SAFEA is responsible for certifying foreign experts to work in China and organising overseas training for technical and managerial professionals.
