UTAR
Faculty of Engineering and Science (FES) had organised the 3rd International
Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies (ICSGCE 2013) which
was held at the Setapak Campus, Kuala Lumpur from 11 -12 October, 2013.
Associate Professor Lim Yun Seng from the Department of Physical Science,
FES was one of the keynote speakers. He had contributed the topic on "Active
Energy Management System for LVDNs Integrated with renewable Energy
Sources." The other topics presented were "Advanced Computational Methods
for Real-Time Operation of Smart Grids", "Condition Monitoring and Asset
management in Smart Grid" and "Smart Transmission Grid Challenges."
The
Conference focused on new and innovative integration and deployment of smart
grid and clean energy technologies that would benefit society in terms of
lower energy cost and reduction of greenhouse effect. It had attracted
participants and academicians from UK, USA, Australia, Norway, UAE, China
and Europe.
In
addition to bringing together the academia, industry, engineering and
corporations to exchange ideas and share experiences, ICSGCE 2013 provided
an opportunity to address potential problems and to understand the
significant challenges in the integration and deployment of new
technologies.
