UST
delegates visiting Kuala Lumpur
UTAR
and the University System of Taiwan (UST) jointly held a series of science
and technology workshops at UTAR Perak Campus from 1 to 4 July 2013.
The collaborative project between UTAR and UST was coordinated by UTAR
Department of Consultancy and Commercialisation.
UST is
a consortium of four top research universities in Taiwan which are National
Central University, National Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua
University, and National Yang-Ming University. It has a combined
student population of over 40,000.
A
delegation of 14 professors from UST, led by Prof Hang Hsueh-Ming, arrived
at Kuala Lumpur on 30 June for the workshops. The UST-UTAR Science and
Technology Workshops saw speakers from both UTAR and UST presented on
various fields such as Biotechnology, Environment and Energy Technology,
Optical Science and Photonics, Communications, and Software and Multimedia.
The participants of the workshops were enlightened on the latest
developments in the respective fields.
The
UST delegates left Malaysia on 5 July. While in Kuala Lumpur, they visited
the Royal Palace, KLCC, and the Putra Mosque.
