Unit, 400 participants from Sungai Long Campus congregated at UTAR Sports
Carnival 2015 for friendly competitions on 26 July 2015 at Tunku Abdul
Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur.
In line with the University’s Vision, the annual carnival aims to encourage
all-rounded education, as well as to foster goodwill among UTAR students,
alumni and staff. Besides that, the event endeavours to uncover prospective
players to reinforce UTAR Sports Teams and to represent the University in
sporting competitions such as the Masiswa Games.
They competed in eight categories of sports and games at the carnival,
namely futsal, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, basketball (both male
and female categories), tug-of-war, and bowling. Participants came from the
Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (FES), Faculty of Creative
Industries (FCI), Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM), Faculty of
Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), and Centre of Foundation Studies (CFS).
This year, FES clinched the overall winning title with a score of five gold
medals and a total of 30 points. Furthermore, one alumni team won a silver
medal in the badminton category.
The overall results of UTAR Sports Carnival 2015 are as follow:
Overall Champion: FES
First Runner-up: tied between CFS and FCI
Second Runner-up: tied between FAM and FMHS
