UTAR Alumni Annual Dinner 2015, themed “We Are Together” was held with success at the Awarna Hotel, Resorts World Genting on 28 November 2015.

“UTAR owes much of its good reputation to our alumni’s success and diligence at work and in the industry, and this has inspired generations of students attracted to the university by the glorious legacy you have helped to create,” said UTAR President Ir Prof Academician Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik.

“As you pursue happiness and success in the world, carry yourself with exemplary conduct worthy of the university’s good name,” he continued.

Koh calling for stronger ties between alumni from all professions

UTAR Alumni Association of Malaysia President Koh Fook Huat believed that this gathering was an opportunity to enhance alumni’s rapport and to work collectively to raise the association to even greater heights.

“I do believe networking is the most powerful channel of success. As we are from different fields of studies, together we should share and contribute our experience and knowledge to move forward,” he said.

One of the 340 alumni present that night, Tan Chin Yee said this gathering helped her to relive her memorable moments in UTAR. “The trip arrangement and performances were great and well organised. I'm so glad to able to witness the growth in our alumni numbers,” she said.

The event also featured performances from alumni such as Malaysian songtress Karen Kong and 2006 Astro TVB8 Minutes to Fame Champion Joanne Lai. The audience were also treated to three different styles of Bhangra dance as well.

This annual event is organised by the Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP).
