A group of
delegates from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT) of Japan paid a
visit to UTAR Kampar Campus on 10 December 2015.
The KAIT
delegation comprised of Dean of Faculty of Information Technology Prof
Kazunori Matsumoto, Head of Faculty of Information Technology and
International Centre Prof Hiroshi Tanaka, Manager of International Affairs
Rie Okuda, and three student representatives from the Faculty of Information
Technology.
They were warmly
welcomed by Director of Division of Community and International Networking
Assoc Prof Dr Tan Sin Leng, Dean of Faculty of Information and Communication
Technology (FICT) Assoc Prof Dr Liew Soung Yue, Deputy Dean of FICT for
Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Dr Cheng Wai Khuen, Head
of the Department of Computer and Communication of FICT Dr Goh Hock Guan,
Deputy Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) for
Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Dr Ng Choon Aun, Deputy
Dean of FEGT for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Dr Lo Po Kim, Head of
Centre for Extension Education Mohd Faizul bin Ahmad, Head of Department of
Soft Skills Competency (DSSC) Hee Chwen Yee, and Assistant General Manager
of DSSC Lok Bee Lan.
Both parties
discussed ideas on the potential collaborative areas such as industrial
training for students, staff and students’ exchanges, academic activities,
post-graduate programmes, educational tour, and joint research arrangements
in the future. Apart from that, the possibility of bringing KAIT students
for the UTAR English Immersion programme was also discussed.
After the
session on souvenir presentation and group photography, the delegates toured
the Campus and the students’ accommodation in Westlake Kampar.
