A team of elected Student Representative Council (SRC) for Kampar and Sungai
Long Campus was sworn in on 14 July at Multi-purpose hall in KB Block,
Sungai Long Campus.
This ceremony marked the beginning of the new SRC committee for the
2015-2016 year. In addition, SRC committees in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling
Jaya Campus have ceased to exist in light of their closures.
“As SRC committee, it is important to work together, regardless of which
campus you serve. You are elected by your fellow students, and it is
important that you serve their interests,” said Prof Academician Dato'
Dr Chuah Hean Teik.
“Never act on emotion and haste, take your time, think logically, and work
among yourselves, staff and students to resolve matters,” Prof Chuah added.
“It’s been an honour serving as the SRC Petaling Jaya chairperson. Remember
to work together as a team; we can’t resolve issues alone. Investigate and
do research before taking any action,” said outgoing SRC Petaling Jaya
Chairperson, Kaarthic a/l Muthukutty Chozhan.
“It’s our duty to make our fellow students feel comfortable and safe around
campus,” he added.
The ceremony ended with Prof Chuah presenting tokens of appreciation to the
2014-2015 SRC Committees.
