The 2015 UTAR-Japanese Chamber of Trade and Industry, Malaysia (JACTIM)
Career Fair was held at UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 23 June 2015.
Jointly organised by UTAR Department of Alumni Relations and Placement
(DARP) and JACTIM, the career fair has been annually for the fourth time
since 2012. This time, the fair was held at Sungai Long Campus’s newly built
Multipurpose Hall for the first time.
UTAR-JACTIM Career Fair aims to provide employment opportunities for the
matching of jobs and training programmes between employers, UTAR students
and alumni.
This year, 10 Malaysia-based Japanese companies, namely Sharp Electronics
(M) Sdn Bhd, Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Toray Group (Malaysia), UMW Toyota
Motor Sdn Bhd, Fujitsu Systems Global Solutions Sdn Bhd, Tohken (M) Sdn Bhd,
Tateyama Auto Machine Co (M) Sdn Bhd, KYB-UMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Rohm-Wako
Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd took part in the fair. The annual career fair
also saw an encouraging turnout of over 470 students patronising booths to
collect corporate information about the potential employers, skills
requirements, employment benefits and other related employment details.
JACTIM, formed in 1983, was established with the objective of promoting
economic relations between Malaysia and Japan, in the areas of international
trading, commerce, industry and investment, as well as with the aim of
protecting the interests of Japanese companies and promoting mutual
friendship and social interaction among member companies.
