UTAR Sungai Long Campus Wushu Club organised a martial arts-themed extravaganza named “Reunion of Martial Arts Night (R.O.M.A.N)” on 8 November 2015.

The event saw the presence of UTAR Vice President of Student Development & Alumni Relations Dr Teh Chee Seng, actor Frankie Lee Sai Peng, UTAR Sungai Long Wushu Club coach Lai Kong Woey, Department of Student Affairs Head Loh Nyuk Leung, and an audience 600 strong.

The event began with R.O.M.A.N 2015 chairperson Sia Ann Yee and Dr Teh each giving a welcoming speech, which was followed the emcee of the night inviting the VIPs onstage for the opening ceremony.

The long-awaited performances hit off at 6.45pm. Performances lined up encompassed LED Dragon Dance, a lion dance, Muay Thai, Drumming by 24 Festival Drums, bian lian (Chinese face mask changing), Judo, Wushu Dance, Diabolo, a drama from UTAR Sungai Long’s Wushu Club, and Wushu performances from Selangor Wushu Team, CMF Wushu Academy, The One Wushu team, KL Wushu Team, and Wudo Wushu.

“It was indeed an eye-opener for me to learn that Wushu Club can be so happening by having so many different kinds of performances,” said Lim, a member of the audience.

After a night of marvellous performances, a lucky draw awaited the audience. Souvenirs were then given to all VIPs for helping to make the event a success.
