UTAR Career Day July 2016, organised by the
Department of Alumni Relations and Placement specially for graduating
students and alumni, was held at the Multi-purpose Hall in Sungai Long
Campus on 27 July 2016.
The main purpose of this event was to provide an
opportunity for students to explore possible future career paths and gather
insight into the specific requirements, job responsibilities, and unique
experiences associated with each profession. It also aimed to serve as a
career counselling session for the young job seekers. Final year
students benefited from the career day by submitting their resumes to attain
internship opportunities.

Ong Hui Shi from the International Business
programme said, “There are so many large companies at this career day and I
managed to clearer picture my future career path by talking to those large
companies. They did not just give me information on the job
responsibilities, but also offered me tests to explore my own interests.”
Applied Mathematics with Computing student Chua
Khang Hui said, “I am in the final semester for my degree programme, and
this is the best place for me to look for a job. I was able to learn more
about the companies’ backgrounds and I got interested with a few companies
through the sharing sessions.”

There were 83 companies which participated,
including Top Glove, PwC, Public Bank, Tan Chong Group, Genting Malaysia
Berhad, Eco World Development Group, and more.
