Cut for Hope 2.0 committee members
Sungai Long Campus’ Yoga Club organised a charity haircut event called “Cut for Hope 2.0” at the Multi-purpose Hall in Sungai Long Campus on 21 and 22 November 2016.
This event aimed to raise awareness among students and staff towards cancer patients and raise funds for the National Cancer Society Malaysia. Several professional hairstylists donated their time in support of this event. There were also a Cancer Awareness Talk by AalexTermizi and a Yoga Talk by Ambika Menon during this two-day event.
Anna Liong Mei Hung from Fusio-Art Hair and Beauty said, “This is a very meaningful event. It encourages students to take part in charity while at the same time getting to enjoy a cheaper haircut.”

Cut for Hope 2.0 Chairperson and Physiotherapy student Ng Xin Yi said, “The main reason for organising this event is to help the National Cancer Society Malaysia to raise funds. Besides that, we also hope to promote yoga to UTAR students because yoga helps to relax the mind and release stress. Students have the chance to learn some simple yoga from experts. We also hope to introduce the club to students and attract more people to join Yoga Club through this event.”
Cut for Hope 2.0 was sponsored by AB Mochi, Think Big Productions and Ozen Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant. The hairstylists who participated in this charity event were from TROVE Hairdressing, It’s Hair Art THE HAIR STUDIO, Lot 179 and Fusio Art Hair & Beauty.
