Toastmasters Awareness Day

Gathering of Toastmasters

The Toastmasters International Programme showcased some of its speakers at UTAR with the goal of chartering a Toastmasters club at UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 27 Febuary 2016.

The club will be hosted under the wing of the Drama and Public Speaking Society (Sungai Long Campus) and will assist in the public speaking aspect of the society. Invited speakers at the event included distinguished Toastmaster, Vincent Ho.

The event featured presentations of speeches, impromptu table topics, Q&A sessions, as well as a role-playing demonstration of various characters known as The Timer, Sergeant at Arms, ‘Ah’ Counter, Speech Evaluator, Grammarian, and Toastmaster of the Day.

“The event held at UTAR was a demonstration of the speakers who represent Toastmaster International (TI) and their interest to charter a local club,” said Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) lecturer Janet Fernandez.

The best table topic speaker was also voted by the audience and given a Toastmasters Ribbon souvenir.
