Participants stained with colours
The heat wave did not slow down 700 runners from
taking part in the UTAR Wellness Colour Run held at UTAR Sungai Long Campus
on 20 March 2016. The run was part of the university’s effort to promote
wellness.
Participants taking off
Participants were showered with red, green, pink,
blue, and yellow as they dashed through separate stations throughout the 7.0
km stretch in Bandar Sungai Long. Finishers were greeted with goodie bags
and a variety of performances by UTAR’s 24 Festive Drums, UTAR Dance Club
members, and a rave party led by UTAR alumnus Joseph Koay.
Red in the air
Mechanical Engineering student Chong Ching Cheng
said that he felt refreshed after the run. When asked what motivated him to
join the run, Chong said that the colours got him to join the run.
Getting ready to paint the runners green
“I don’t usually join marathons, but this one is
interesting,” Media and Creative Studies student Jessica Chan said. She also
said that the theme of the event was very unique and hopes to join a similar
event again before she graduates.
The run was jointly organised by UTAR Sungai Long
Sports Club and Yoga Club, supported by the Arts and Craft Society,
Photography Society, and First Aid Society.
