The Be my Umbrella Today! (B.U.T) Living Eco-friendly Awareness Campaign 2016 was held at Sungai Long Campus on 10 November 2016 with the objective to educate and encourage individuals to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle.

“Using an umbrella as a symbol of protection, our team — Armbrella — deeply believe that hand in hand we can make a change and protect our only home. Global warming, climate change and the rise of sea levels are signs that indicate Mother Earth is sick,” said Project Manager Chen Jin Xun.

“Time is running out, we need to start changing our habits in order to save our planet,” said Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Dr David Tneh Cheng Eng. He also advised the public to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles such as recycling, and reducing the usage of paper, plastic, energy and water.

“It’s really great to see our future generation taking up environmental responsibilities as it gives hope to the future of our environment,” said Malaysian Environmental Non-governmental Organisations (MENGO) Coordinator Awang Muzaiddin Bin Ahat.
