The UTAR Sungai Long Toastmasters Club held a fundraising project on 1 and 2 November 2016 at Sungai Long Campus. “It aimed to raise funds for the club’s expenses as well as to lower the membership fee to make it affordable for UTAR students,” said Khoo Suat Hoong, one of the club’s advisors.

The fundraising was also an opportunity for students to learn more about the UTAR Sungai Long Toastmasters Club.

Some of the items sold were mashed potatoes made by club member Joan-Michelle Tan and a variety of breads from Butter and Olive Bakery. Khoo also noted that the sales were good as all items were sold out before 4pm.

Hosted under the wing of the Drama and Public Speaking Society (Sungai Long Campus), the club offers communication programmes and leadership projects designed to help its members to master various communication skills.

The Toastmasters Meeting is held at 7pm every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at KB 803.
