For Cosplay fans, the UTAR Asian Cultural Society is organsing the ACG Fiesta 2017 themed Yokai on 21 and 22 January 2017 at the Sungai Long Campus Multipurpose Hall and Level 1 KB Block. The event is open to all students and the public, inviting all Cosplay enthusiasts especially, to participate in this colourful ACG Fiesta.
Cosplay (コスプレ), from the words costume play, is a performance art where the participants (usually referred to as cosplayers) wear costumes and accessories to depict a specific character usually taken from manga and anime, comic books and cartoons, video games, and live-action films and television series. Cosplaying has become a hobby among young cosplay fans and a popular culture in Japan and spreading to other parts of Asia and the West.
UTAR students from all faculties are invited to participate in and enjoy the
ACG Fiesta which will feature special guests such as AbamApam, Angie, Lea &
Mikki and the GG Twins as the emcee for the event. Among the many
interesting activities planned for all participants are the themed Anime
Café, a Cosplay competition, various games booths, the haunted house and
numerous performances. The Fiesta promises to be an exciting and colourful
event.
