A Charity Bazaar was organised in conjunction with the 15th anniversary
of Home for the Angels (HFTA) by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering
and Science and Centre for Foundation Studies of Sungai Long Campus at
Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan on 29 October 2017.
With the purpose of expressing gratitude, the management of HFTA invited
its philanthropists to celebrate the 15th anniversary
of HFTA which was relocated to a new place. The charity bazaar was
organised to raise fund for the maintenance and operation fee of the new
home.
Besides fund-raising, the core objective of the charity bazaar was to
foster volunteerism among UTAR staff and students. It was also to
advocate the importance of volunteerism and social responsibility
towards the unfortunate community like the orphans, abandoned elders and
disabled individuals. The charity bazaar was used as a tool to encourage
the event helpers to lend a helping hand to those who are in need.
The charity bazaar began by welcoming the VIPs for a ribbon-cutting
ceremony. Some exciting programmes and performances were lined up such
as lion dance performance, 24 Festive Drum performance, Wushu martial
arts performance, traditional dances and also a performance by the
orphans.
