In line with UTAR's core values of giving back to the community, UTAR Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) donated a total of 67 books to two schools in Kampar, namely SJK (C) Chung Huah and SMJK Pei Yuan, on 8 December 2017 and 13 December 2017 respectively.
With the aim to help students have easier access to information and the opportunity to expand their knowledge with the newly added books, the book donation was also a community outreach effort by FBF to contribute to the Kampar community.
The books donated consisted of phonics reading books in Bahasa Malaysia and English, Chinese story books, children’s encyclopedia, reference and notes for examinations, motivational books, dictionaries, and course related reference book.
FBF firstly donated 47 books to SJK (C) Chung Huah, and present to receive the books were SJK (C) Chung Huah Principal Yew Koong Yoke and Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) representative Lee Hock Ean. Also present were FBF Department of Marketing Head Choy Johnn Yee representing Dean Dr Au Yong Hui Ni, along with lecturer Dr Wong Lai Soon, and staff Lee Jean-Nee, Leong Wai Peng and Yip Theam Leong.

Another 20 books were donated to SMJK Pei Yuan on 13 December 2017 and present to receive the books was Guru Kanan Chang Cheng Yau representing SMJK Pei Yuan Principal. Also present were Dr Au Yong, Choy, FBF lecturers Ching Suet Ling, Dr Lee Voon Hsien, Tan Min Khen, Hew Jun Jie, and staff Jean-Nee and Yip.
