Delegates from Shu-Te University (STU) visited Sungai Long Campus on 7 July 2017 for more collaborative opportunities.

The delegates were STU Vice-President Dr Yen Jih-Rong and Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs Deputy Dean Dr Veronica Chen. On behalf of UTAR were UTAR President Ir Prof Academician Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik, Division of Community and International Networking Director Prof Dr Cheng Ming Yu, Faculty of Accountancy and Management Deputy Dean Dr Hen Kai Wah, and Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) Deputy Dean Aloysius Yapp.

Prof Chuah said, “We are glad that UTAR and STU have established an active partnership since the signing of MoU. We highly encourage our staff and students to join the outbound programmes to learn from peers from other countries. We also welcome international students to UTAR. Besides academic programmes, there are many co-curricular activities like community projects which enable international students to learn more about the local people and culture through hands-on experience.”

Echoing the importance of international academic exchange, Dr Yen said, “UTAR has been our good partner for student exchange programmes. Hence, we hope to expand this collaborative relationship with UTAR through even more scholastic activities such as staff exchange, study tours, outbound internship and voluntary projects to further explore the potential collaborative opportunities with UTAR.”

UTAR and STU have signed an MoU since 2012. This September, four students from the Department of Game Studies of FCI will head to STU for a one-semester exchange programme.
