Financial Accreditation Agency calls on UTAR

Visiting UTAR Kampar Campus and the Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) on 7 March 2017 for the second time were delegates from the Financial Accreditation Agency (FAA), namely Strategic Corporate Relations Managers Avinesh Varma and Jonathan David.

The representatives from FBF there to welcome them were Dean Dr Au Yong Hui Nee, Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Yew King Tak, Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Dr Lau Lin Sea, Department of Business Administration Head Choong Yuen Onn, Department of Finance Head Kuah Yoke Chin, Department of Marketing Head Choy Johnn Yee and Lecturer Lim Chong Heng.

While the visit aimed to promote the benefits of accreditation to UTAR, the delegates also hoped for the visit to be informative in order to help raise the standards and quality of professional learning and development for the industries.

The visit provided FBF with valuable input, feedback and advice from industry experts on how to improve the content and structure of its programmes. Through that, FBF is able to maintain strong and relevant programmes which encourage the intellectual and personal development of students and are responsive to professional and community needs.

Apart from that, guidelines to ensure the quality of design, development and delivery of FBF programmes were also suggested, which FBF believes will greatly assist in designing high standard syllabi that provide a supportive and challenging environment for students to realise their full potential.

The visit ended with a souvenir presentation by Dr Au Yong to Avinesh, receiving it on behalf of FAA, as a token of UTAR’s appreciation.
